I got my Kim K on and tried the look she wore to the Grammys this year. The eyes were completely shimmery, which is a totally different style from what I normally wear. It was a top pick when I asked who had your favorite look of the night on Instagram so I gave it a try. I loved the result and think this would be great for a date night. New year, new me! That’s what we all say, right? I’m currently fighting my soda addiction by going cold turkey. It is day four and I feel like I need to scratch little tally marks on my desk or something for each day I go without a sip. I’m definitely going to need at least a little medal for this or something. Soda is one of my greatest vices, second only to my love for makeup, which fortunately can’t kill me. Anyway, I pretty much went off the deep end hauling ever since the holidays came around and there were tons of deals and new launches encouraging me to makeover my stash. I caught a glimpse of Jennifer Lopez’s makeup at the Golden Globes and I was immediately inspired to create a smokey eye with my new Tartelette matte eye shadow palette. That woman can do no wrong! I knew I was doing a sexy themed video later that night so this look was perfect! As I mentioned in the tutorial, I saved a bunch of pictures of J. Lo’s look so I will be recreating it with this palette soon.

New palette and time on my hands means playing in front of the camera. Seems like the jury is still out on the Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette but I was certainly a fan of the colors I used to create this look. If you are looking for a comparison, I would say that the texture of most of the shadows I tried were very similar to the Lorac Pro palettes. It is certainly a great value but you could pay more for a more creamy/buttery product. Which side of the fence are you on?
